Most software review sites are funded by the tools they review — which means the "review" is really just marketing copy with a star rating attached. We built ExplainerCueTech to work differently.
Every tool on this site is used for real work before we write a word about it — usually on an actual client project or an internal workflow — for a minimum of two weeks. We screenshot our own dashboards. We score against tools we've already tested, not against a features checklist copied from the vendor's website.
How we test
Every review follows the same three-stage process:
- Run it for real work. We use the tool for an actual task, not a sandbox demo.
- Score against alternatives. Pricing, support, and feature depth compared directly against tools we've already tested.
- Publish the verdict. Screenshots are our own. If a tool changes significantly, the review gets a dated update — not a rewrite that hides what changed.
How we make money
This site earns revenue through display advertising and affiliate commissions when you click through to a tool we recommend and sign up. This never affects the score a tool receives — see our Affiliate Disclosure for the full picture.
